In the culmination of the trilogy, players find Spyro teaming up with an unlikely ally - Cynder, his former enemy, to face his most challenging mission to date. As the Dark Master's (voiced by Mark Hamill) evil envelopes the world like a plague, Spyro must fulfill his destiny and unlock the true power of the purple dragon within him to stop the Dark Master in his tracks.

Story

Three long years have passed since Spyro and Cynder were trapped in the crystal, since then Malefor has unleashed his evil onto the world. In this third chapter of the epic Legend of Spyro trilogy, Spyro must fulfil his destiny and face the Dark Master. As evil spreads over the world, Spyro and Cynder must discover new abilities and unlock their true powers to defeat Malefor and stop him from destroying the world.

i thought the movie was in theaters first since it said 3D but still it would be awesome if it came out it movies first (since you can watch as many times as you want lol and only pay once)

I heard the movie might be going staight to DVD, with not news/ trailers, since it is July already and still no new news about progress and release dates/trailers.

i'm geussing the movie is the reason there not making anymore games yet (the insanitys finally gone or is it o.O) its gona be a while til they make another since the movie is in 3D and is only in theaters (WAAAH!!!)

No, I'm certain they are not replacing Spyro. Like i said, Mystic Galaxies (maker of Grandwing) and Sierra/Activision (owners of Spyro) have seemingly NOTHING to do with each other. I 'll go to the Activision forums and ask about Grandwing.

Grandwing starrs a Griffin called firo and it is by Mysic Galaxies. Spyro is by Sierra/Activision, so I don't think Spyro will end as the two companies/developers don't have a thing to do with each other as far as I can tell.

We were assure there will be more Spyro games, though LOS is over, yes. LOS was a reboot of the series so as to allow for more expansion and growth. They wouldn't go to all that trouble and just throw Spyro aside for some new Grandwing game.

I heard from a topic in the forum that there not making anymore Spyro. And that this new game is taking his place. It's called Grandwing. The main character is a griffin called Firo. And it is like Spyro 1, 2 and 3 (having portals, gems etc).

So I think DOTD is the last off Spyro.

And I don't think it's a rumor. Because many sites, including Wikipedia, is saying the game is real. But I'm not quit sure if it is replacing Spyro or not so don't get sad yet! They might still make more Spyro!
