The Wall Street Journal has the first details of the newly announced sequel; Skylanders Giants. Set to be released this Autumn the game will add eight new toys that are said to be more than twice the size of the original characters as well as eight more normal sized Skylanders.
Activision will debut the new game at the International Toy Fair that runs February 12th-15th, just like they did with Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure last year.
They have also confirmed that all of the current Skylanders will work just fine with the sequel, so you'll have plenty of time to stock up and prepare to continue your adventures.
Until then we've still got Camo, Legendary Trigger Happy, Lightning Rod, Sunburn, Warnado, Wham-Shell, and Zook to even be released.

I think this will be an even better game than the first! 
But I won't be buying all the remodels, only the ones I really like. (mostly the dragons) But I haven't found any new skylanders here in Europe yet, sure they got a box or two, but only with zap, eruptor, boomer, dino-rang, hex and wrecking ball... Why are we always so much later to get them?! I hope they fix it before the sequel, or I will probably go nuts... But I'm really excited for this game!

And I just came home from Denmark, they got new skylanders by the start of the week, but no flameslinger, cynder, slam bam, drill sergeant or double trouble, and they were sold out by the end of the week! They were even on the national news! That is a great honor, not even pokemon, bakugan or gormiti has gotten! (as far as I know)

i read that they might make the magic giant a big spyro but i have no idea and does anybody know the name of the bird skylander?
A giant spyro would be a horrible move imo, and there is an entire thread about about the bird skylander.

Hey. They got rid of the Chinese Dragon Skylander in the Giants trailer! Pause at about 14 seconds in the trailer and he (or she!?) is not there.
I wonder what the new Adventure Packs versions will be like. After all, it was said that every figure was getting an update, and the location pieces count.

Skylanders are awesome I love collecting them I have got 30 Skylanders going to wait for Skylanders Giants in October 2012 2 get the other skylanders I am very excited about Skylanders Giants!!!!!!!!
