Senpai Gamer have news of the impending release of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure in Japan. It will be released in just two weeks, on the 12th of July, for the PS3, Wii, 3DS, and, surprisingly enough, the Wii U as well.

You can check out the official website to read all about the game in Japanese.

Thanks to Nat Loh for the heads up.

Huh - that's odd, I wonder if the Wii U version will have any additional features that involve the tablet or if it'll just be the PS3/360/PC version running on the Wii U.

Well, I believe it's because they didn't have anyone to publish the game in Japan since Activision is an American company. I might be wrong, but I believe that it was something like that.

Square Enix were originally noted to be publishing the game in Japan, I guess they didn't get it sorted?

Activision's going to be up to their eyes in money when the game hits Japenese stores.
I feel bad for them, though. By the time they get Giants we'll already be done with Swap Force.

I don't think the link to the JP website works. I tried it out and it gave me a 404 error message. Then again, I am using my I-Pad Mini, so maybe it's just for mobile devices?

Assuming Japanlanders work fine in US versions of the game (which they almost certainly do!), this may mean we'll finally get reasonably priced legit Skylanders more wide spread in Asia!!!

Apparently not.

Drat, Drat, and Double Drat! A Square-Enix port would have been so awesome! Wonder how much they would've changed the game?

Also, anyone notice this from the article?

They're getting it for the Wii U, but not the 360, because the 360 doesn't sell at all in Japan and the Wii U does. It was only in February that they stopped manufacturing PS2's for Japan, and at that point the console had more sales a week than the 360.

Activision know how bad the 360 sells in Japan, so they're taking advantage of this by porting it to a system that is actually popular in Japan.
