As you would pretty much expect, Vivendi Games Mobile have now announced that they will be releasing a mobile phone version of The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night.
Quote:
Due to be released on the 12th of November, you can also see a couple of screenshots which you can find in the new Gallery for the game.
It's also worth noting that this is the first time that The Eternal Night has been mentioned in an English language Press Release by Vivendi.

A sequel to the award-winning The Legend of Spyro: The New Beginning mobile game, this time around Spyro has eight enemy bosses to overcome across 13 levels of intense action. Spyro’s ultimate objective is to prevent the resurrection of the Dark Master; a task to which he rises with typical dragon valor.
Due to be released on the 12th of November, you can also see a couple of screenshots which you can find in the new Gallery for the game.

Apologies for the lack of post worthy updates since the end of November last year but here's one.
I have today finished off and posted my brand new and complete walkthrough for the mobile version of The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. Only got the DS version of the game left to write a walkthrough for now.

It's been a strangely silent front with screenshots for the GameboyAdvance version of the game, you'd almost think that it didn't even exist. However the first five screenshots of the side-scrolling GBA version of The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning have appeared on the Australian website of Nintendo.
Also worthy of note are the first screens of the Mobile version of the game which you can find at the Italian mobile games website WirelessGaming.it.
Thanks go to Spyro-Fan and Michael respectively for finding these.

It only took a year and a half but I've finished the maps for A Hero's Tail. Along the same lines I've finished the maps for Season of Ice too, only four and a half years late this time. Now all those lost things can find their way again, hurrah!
I've also now properly finished off the mobile Spyro the Dragon walkthrough which was previously hindered by the lack of the final level in my version of the game. It does indeed now include the boss fight.

I've finally finished redoing the Spyro: Fusion (Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy) section which for the most part looks better than before. Mostly the walkthrough though, which I've finally brought up-to-date.
In other site related updates, I've added the first Spyro mobile game to the Other Games section and added a Books section to Shadow Legacy. Oh, and of course I added a The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning section too.

Aside from what may or may not be a vague prediction on IGN, there's still been no news of a new Spyro game. There's a similarly vague thing about it here (which gives a 3rd quarter release for Spyro 6 on the PS2, GameCube, GBA and DS) too.
In site news, I've put the Ripto Quest section back in action and have added a brand new Spyro the Dragon section for the Mobile game bearing that name. You'll find them in the 'Other Games' link on the right. There's also a new alternative link to the proper games sections just above it.
I've altered the news archives for individual years so that they show a calendar of the year rather then producing a long page of news items, though that option is still there. I might as well mention the forum changes too.
UPDATE: I've also just added a rather pointless poll on the right.

Welcome to the brand new look to darkSpyro. We've got the same content as before and a little extra (minus Ripto Quest which will be back soon anyway). Use the image links on the left to navigate your way around the games. All other links are on the right as well as the advert, remember that that's the only thing paying for the hosting.
Anyway, there may be some new glitches and mistakes around the site whilst I try and iron any out. If you wouldn't mind mentioning any you find in the comments for this news post I'd be very grateful. And just so you know, the random image selection in the top right isn't switched on just yet, I'll probably get round to doing that tomorrow when I fix up the banner as well.
As well as all that, I've written a brand new guide, for the Mobile Phone game Spyro the Dragon. View the basic text file here.
UPDATE: Now with hover effects.

A new mobile Spyro game has been released, again made by Kaolink, it features Spyro going around rescuing a few dragon elders from the Shadow Realm.
With only seven levels, it's not a long game, but it at least looks a little bit nicer then Ripto Quest did despite being a side-scroller. Quite why they couldn't think of an original name for the game though...

That's right.
Ripto Quest
I've written a full and complete walkthrough to the game taking you from Main to Snake. Also included with this update is a full script to the game. All fully furnished with pictures and all. Hurrah!

There's a little more info on the Ripto Quest game now.
Ripto Quest
Kaolink appear to be the developers for this game and they have themselves a nice page of info and pictures on their site. Click on Mobiles and then scroll down to this box and click on it:
It appears that the story will continue right off the back of Adventure with Ripto breaking the machine that is keeping him where he is. Your task is to find all the pieces of the machine that have been scattered about, there are four pieces. You will also be needing to free fairies that have been trapped in a similar manner to Season of Ice. There's also a slightly improved version of the logo there too.
The phones that it confirms that it will work for are:
Nokia 3510i, 3520, 3530, 3560, 3586i, 3595, 8910i, 3100, 3200, 3300, 3300A, 5100, 6100, 6200, 6220, 6225, 6230, 6585, 6610, 6650, 6800, 6810, 6820, 7200, 7210, 7250, 7250I, 3600, 3650, 3660, 6600, 7650, Sharp GX10, GX20, GX30, Sagem myV-65, myV-75, myX-7, Motorola V300, V500, V520, V525, V600, Sony Ericson T610, T616, T618, Z600, T628, T630, Panasonic X60, Samsung E700, E710
Though, the screenshots shown on the site are just for Nokia 7210 & Motorola V500, and other phone's graphics will vary.
Info found thanks to Mozepy.
You may also have noticed that I've added an introduction page for Ripto Quest, the page there is rather basic at the moment and contains nothing you can't read elsewhere. However I will eventually get around to making it a more complete page full of info for this game.

I am now starting to do random updates again, as I have a little more time on my hands and have an easier time updating the site now. While they will generally be more frequent, they won't be as large. Here's today's anyway:
Season of Flame
Again, another level completed for the guide. It's the delightful Shamrock Isle just in case you wanted to know. Overall the guide is 20% completed, not too much to go eh?
Story
I've completely re-written the Spyro Story so that it gives a much better account of what happens in the games. Be warned though as it's all one big spoiler ridden story, nothing there will spare you the plot-lines of any of the games (bar A Hero's Tail, of which the story is not currently completely known).
Character Guide
I've now completed work on preparations for the character guide and have started actually making the bulk of it. Currently through the first world of Spyro the Dragon, it all seems to be going well so far. Expect an actual release within a month or two now.
Actual News
Brand new Spyro game announced recently. It's called Spyro: Ripto Quest and will appear on mobile phones.
Ripto and his army have attacked the worlds of Ice, Grass and Fire. They've damaged the machine that protects the worlds from the diabolical Ripto. Help Spyro and Sparx recover the 4 damaged machine parts and return them to the Professor. Breathe fire, cast spells, teleport, jump and fly around 3 magical worlds and 7 levels of game play. Interact with characters along the way to find out mission objectives and battle Ripto's army of re-spawning Rhino troops.
Visit the site for that game by clicking on the image. There you'll find a few more pictures as well as a short moving video of the game in action. Apparently to be released December 2004, though GameFAQs has it being released on the 22nd of November.
And, as if by chance, there's also a brand new video trailer for the game at VUGames. Clicky here to get to it *goes to borrow some nice looking screens out of it*.
