Chompy Mountain
Mabu Landing Pier
Immediately take a right to find a Winged Sapphire, straight ahead from the start Gumbus has a Quest for Sheep Creep, Mildly Irritated Sheep. This quest is an Angry Birds sort of minigame, keep the power level in the green and you should pretty much hit exactly where you're aiming. Plenty of time and no shot limit so just keep on firing until you've wiped out all the buffalo.
With that done go out the last exit from the crossroads heading north, left through a cart and up to Buzz.
Old Mabu Town
Follow the Mabu into their houses, first we'll go into the one by the gate.
Snuckle's House
Nothing much needed to do here, just talk to Special Agent Snuckles and he'll join up. Next up is the house directly up the ramp.
Rizzo's House
Rizzo is locked behind a gate at the back of the house, pick up the nearby bomb at throw it in his general direction. Still in the house smash through a fence on the left side of the room to find a Magic Elemental Gate.
Crystal Caves (Magic)
Walk forwards to the large blue circular area and chase down the five coins that are floating around. That'll open up the gate and let you through to the Treasure Chest 1/3. The next blue circular area has eight coins to pickup but has a few large boulders rolling around too, hit these and you'll take damage as well as split the rock into two - both of which will damage you if you hit them (although the damage is tiny), that unlocks a third area of coins to collect and then the Hat 1/3 - Horns Be With You Hat.
Before you leave pick up the bomb again and then walk outside carrying it, walk down the ramp and throw it at the covered well in the middle of the town. Jump on down.
Wishing Well
Apart from some coins you'll find a Traptanium Crystal to smash with Treasure Chest 2/3 inside. Back out go on into the final house.
Nort's House
To the right as you enter you'll see a Villain Stash. Jump on the green button next to Nort several times and it'll pump the platform up to him so he can get down. Go back up there and on the right you'll be able to pick up Soul Gem 1/3 - Gusto.
Head on out and go through the gate that the Mabu Defense Force have opened up (ignore the Soul Gem behind Nort's House, that's further into the level).
Spinner's Landing
You'll be briefly shown a villain but it's not quite time to fight him, instead defeat the three trolls that attack and then go spin down a Chompy statue to start opening a door. Go left across a new bridge.
Overgrown Ramparts
Avoid the yellow markers and make your way over to a cannon along the wall, push it to the right and then fire it at the Chompy Mage's balloon. There's a second cannon to the left, push it towards the wall and then left so that you can fire it at the Chompy Mage again.
If you already have Bruiser Cruiser then ignore the fence next to the Mabu Defense Force and continue on to the left, you'll spot a Molekin called Brady who has a Quest for Bruiser Cruiser Need More Than Singing. If not then smash through the fence to fight and capture Bruiser Cruiser first (needs a Tech Trap). Nothing to this quest, Bruiser Cruiser will smash down the rocks and you'll be able to grab the Hat 2/3 - Paperboy Hat inside.
In the fight with Bruiser Cruiser behind the fence simply keeping circling around him as he runs and punches, he'll tire out after a while when you can really start bashing him. Keep doing this every time he gets up until his health is obliterated. A Tech Trap will catch him. Reward for defeating him is 200 gold and the usual new Skystone.
Behind where Bruiser Cruiser was standing is a second Chompy coil to wind down, then cross the new bridge.
Mountain Falls Lagoon
Step off the platform into the water and just to the right down some steps in the water is a Traptanium Crystal, smash it to find Soul Gem 2/3 - Wallop. Go up the steps by the MDF and open the Lock Puzzle.
This puzzle has a new element, a cracked block. If you hit the block one time it'll crack further, and on a second hit you'll go straight through. It's not necessary for solving the actual puzzle here but you might want to do so to get the bonus coins behind it. To solve the puzzle you have to hit the three diagonals, the sequence is simply: Right, Up. Getting the coins as well is Left, Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Left, Down, Right, Up.
The second screen has another new element, fire, which this time is actually important as if you hit the fire your position will be reset to the start. To solve it with the coin go Down, Left, Right, Up, Left, Down, Down.
Troll Fortress
On the other side of the gate are quite a few Chompies running around, smash them and a few Mace Majors will jump in and a Lob Goblin will start throwing bombs towards you. Avoid and destroy as the Lob Goblin jumps down and is joined by four more Mace Majors. After you've taken out that lot another set of them will jump in and be joined by a Broccoli Guy, this guy will heal enemies so try to take him down first. He doesn't do any damage to you by himself so just keep an eye out for the other enemies while you're attacking him.
Once the monster gate opens go up the steps and go to the right around the top of the "arena". Opposite the entrance is a path towards a building where some of the enemies came from, just outside is the Story Scroll, once you've got it head on into the house.
K-TROLL - Troll Radio
In here is Chill Bill's Quest The Cold Front so make sure to return here once you've captured Chill Bill in a Water Trap later on in the game if you want to evolve him. There's nothing to do and nothing to collect either way so turn around and head on out again.
Continue going around the edge of the arena and you'll find Soul Gem 3/3 - Bushwhack, it's the one you might have spotted behind Nort's House. Now go back around the arena, up some stepped platforms you'll find Persephone for a mid-level upgrade (the button platforms here just have coins above them), drop off to the left to turn the third and final Chompy coil.
Chompy Mountain
After talking to Buzz smash through the fence and then push a cannon one space to the right before firing it at a fence with a target on (as part of a Trophy/Achievement you might also want to fire it at the two Chompy Heads on either side of the fence).
Rizzo's Rescue
Through the fence is a bunch of Chompies accompanied by a Slobber Trap, defeat them and that'll somehow set Rizzo free. On your left is an Undead Elemental Gate.
Undead Vista (Undead)
All there is in here is a Lock Puzzle to solve. Getting there this time requires you to pick up the blue water icon as you'll need it to go through the fire. To get it and all the coins go Up, Down, Down, Up, Down, Left, Up, Left, Right (here go right to finish), Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Right, Right, Up, Up, Down, Left, Up, Right, Right. Behind the gate is Hat 3/3 - Hunting Hat.
Just to the right of the Undead Gate is a Traptanium Crystal that's hiding a doorway.
Artillery Storage
On the right is a Mabu called Bungo who would like to play Skystones Smash, unfortunately you still haven't learned how to. Perhaps note it down to return later. At the back of the room behind all the mess is Treasure Chest 3/3.
Stand next to Rizzo to ride the elevator up.
Nort's Rescue
Immediately to your right through a fence is Legendary Treasure - Legendary Chompy Statue. (As part of the Trophy/Achievement push the cannon to the left and fire it to destroy a third Chompy Head) after defeating a few enemies and freeing Nort go around to the left side behind some blocks and stand on a button to lower the blocks next to the cannon, push the cannon to the left so that you can fire at the gate next to Nort's, go through.
Chompy Hatchery
Another Broccoli Guy but this time he's a villain that you can capture with a Life Trap. You can do this two ways, either try to kill him while the two Slobber Traps are still alive (I guess one would work as well) or you can kill the two Slobber Traps and start chasing him around the room. Either way Broccoli Guy himself will not hurt you so you only need to watch out for the Slobber Traps. 250 bounty and a Skystone.
Outside again talk to Nort on the elevator.
Snuckles' Rescue
Time for a quick block puzzle, push the left one once and the right one once and then the middle one to the left twice so it falls off the side (that should finish the Trophy/Achievement by smashing the fourth Chompy Head). There's one enemy down there but not much else, attack the two Slobber Traps up here and then take out the Chompies a little further ahead, a few more will pour out of a small doorway along with a few Mace Majors to finish it off. Once they're defeated you'll free Snuckles.
Ride the elevator with Snuckles and then start making your way up the steps to the top of the Chompy Mountain.
Chompy Head Spire
Time to battle the Chompy Mage for real. A word of warning, the difficulty setting really changes the fight, on the lower difficulty modes there are only a few blast waves to avoid but on the harder ones you've got almost no break from them.
First he'll fire down a load of Chompies, in harder modes their impacts will cause blast waves of fire to jump over. Try to keep as far away from the centres as they hit so you have enough time to jump over the waves as they pass by. Once the waves have stopped wipe out the Chompies, repeat and then the Chompy Mage will join in. Don't bother tryint to hit him just yet, just concentrate on avoiding taking damage from the waves. He'll soon turn into a red Chompy, the time to attack is when he's bouncing up and down on the spot as you can avoid all the waves at once if you're right next to him by jumping when he does, just watch out for the Chompies he brings with him. He'll then start bouncing around the arena so carry on trying to avoid damage and wait for him to do the bouncing in a spot again. If you're having trouble staying alive then try switching to a villain when the waves are blasting as they'll only get a bit of time taken off their timer rather than lose health.
1000 gold for the bounty and a Skystone to finish off the level.
Skylanders Academy
Go through the doors and into the Main Hall and you'll see a marker for the Legendary Treasure you found in Chompy Mountain, it'll turn the pillars into statues. Talk to Mags on the right to open up a platform with a slot machine. This randomly selects two elements and then spits out some coins. Perhaps you get extra if you match, no idea. You can pull it once each time you visit the Academy from now on.
Nothing else to do this time, talk to Flynn to get to Chapter 4.
