After ticking down for the past few days the countdown on Spyro's Lair has reached zero. And with impeccable timing nothing happened. UPDATE: Several hours later and here it is: the minisite for The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.
Developed by newcomers to the series, Etranges Libellules and Tantalus Interactive (DS version), the game appears to be taking a much more realistic look after the previous two Legend of Spyro games. The game is due to appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS this October.
The minisite for Dawn of the Dragon is up and running with the official Press Release, five screenshots and five pieces of Concept Art. You can also see those images in our gallery.

I don't mind, anyone using Google has probably read them, I'll just delete the post.
and that other one for the DS
holy crap did that under 3 seconds...........thats it no more coffee for me

I appreciate the more realistic look, though all I need to know is this: can it be possible to trust Etranges Libellules with such a project like this? Krome established quite a lot of framework, so I have a weird feeling concerning the management here.
Oh sorry, now I saw Sparx, in this pic: http://ve3d.ign.com/images/ful...n-TBA-multiplat
Sweet pics, SilverDragon.
The concept art looks awesome!! The game looks really epic, the scale of the levels is very impressive
I agree with you, MrTruffle!
Concept art was breathtaking and very beautiful Hopefully the places in pictures are playing areas in this game.

Yeah. That's the truth.
excuse me but Im so sorry that I didint come here, My cable went out in the worst time. so can someone please explain to me the new updats?
Well, those game screen pictures really have unique graphics. If that's how it's gonna look, I'm just gonna say "Thankyou! Away from the dismals, we're back in buisness!"
The Graphics are beautiful, but what if they are slow like in ETD? Then I am crying...
Aye, thanks for mirroring my suspicions about this issue. I seriously hope this doesn't happen, but I have a weird feeling that with the new developer it very well might do
are Krome making DOTD? if so then the graphics probably wont slow..
Awsome picture of Spyro and Cynder and the gallery.
Krome aren't on it, but that won't be the issue here. Apparently, this will be Etranges Libellules's first PlayStation3/Xbox360 project so unfamiliar territory may be an issue in getting a game just right for ALL platforms, let alone one or two.
kool! that probably explains the more 3-D effect on the characters.
I wouldn't care less about the spiffy graphics. I just want to see the game done right, and that is especially pressured onto a new developer to the series.
Man this one looks awsome!!!
The wings seem oversized... like... BY A LOT. >.>
Also... GASP NO KROME!!! Now I'm in that worrying stage about how this will turn out. >.>

Oh no I just realized that too.I wonder if they will make sparx an even biger bigmouth.

I'm not too worried about Krome not on DOTD. I would say the new developers for the 3rd game would have some people from krome to make the game with Etranges Libellules, so that they don't go off track.

If it helps, the person who wrote the script for the other games is still on and he works for Sierra.
Im not worried about the developer too. Sometimes some fresh ideas is whats needed. People always complain the games "are just rehashes" so by bringing a new developer on board (with something to prove) we might just end up with something surprising
also as for the wings being too big. Spyro is getting older and I guess they need bigger wings to FLY at any time.

Putting that aside...
The DS version actually has the playable Cynder. O.O Usually when they put something on the console version they comletly miss it on DS (:coughcough
And, how the hell is the "fly anytime" option gonna effect the game? I'll probably stick to the ground as much as possible.

Fly anytime will affect is in a huge way? Level design mainly. You'll have so many more options to build levels now and it'll make it much better?
Well that's how i read into it

dark, do you know of anything that Etranges Libellules has done before?
good question! *looks at dark52*
Hold the phone... I just noticed something. It appears Cynder got her dog collars back. IIRC, she didn't have them in The Eternal Night.
That is awesome, and i bet the level with all the lava is the level with the dark master

Yeah-- wtf, dog collars? I call 'em shackle cuffs. I noticed them the second I looked at Cynder. <.<
