Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Reason Lumi might not be in the game:

For us (The average skylander freak) We know Lumi! But for people who arent crazy about the game! They didnt even know about Light and Dark Until superchargers! So that means they probably dont know Lumi and Nightshade! So i dont see Lumi being a Fan Favorite to people who dont even know who he is! They will prbs think! "I thought old villains were coming back! Who's This? I dont like him! I wont buy him!" Without even trying! I wish he was but i just think this is a possibility!

i saw some franchises that conciderd electricity to part of the light element, beside there are alradey three other elements in skylanders that are alradey use electricty themself so it wont hurt to have anthor one.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. As much as Eye Five is the greatest Villain ever to roam Skylands, I feel Luminous is the more likely choice. He's the only Villain of the Light element is actually a Light elemental character. Like, seriously. His power comes from a fudgin' star!

Blaster-Tron can be considered a semi-Light Villain, sure. But with his attacks and entire theme, he'd be more of a Tech element.

Eye Five could easily be an Earth or Undead Villain, with his attacks or appearance.

Lob Goblin is themed around electricity, with his electromines, he could be considered Tech. Also, can someone explain every Light element Villain except for Luminous had electricity attacks?

I don't think Eye Five will return as light villain, he has nothing to do with that element (even though he is in that element)... He is undead or animated doll abomination, with stiches and monstrous eyeballs... Toys For Bob will propably make light element character someone who is more clearly "light" character, like Luminous or Blaster-Tron.

Buuut you never know, (Tae Kwon Crow)

You know, to be honest, I think the remaining Villains will be...

Water Knight: Gulper
Life Bazooker: Pepper Jack
Light Brawler: Luminous

But my hopes are...

Water Knight: Brawl and Chain
Life Bazooker: Still Pepper Jack
Light Brawler: Eye Five
