Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Is there a possibility that the show will air on Cartoon Network maybe a month after it's released?
If not, is there a chance it will be on DVD?

Watch on Netflix first, guys. They need to know we support the series now, and watching elsewhere doesn't give them that response.

@jessalakasam, London event in July and process of elimination,

also, I don't think they will put two Skylanders in the same class and element (a skylander and villain, maybe) but still

More proof that Resettable Creation Crystals are a thing now??? One image is of a Tech Knight and Tech Ninja from the same event. From what I can tell, there was only one Tech CC. Sooooo...

@Android Kain Excuse me? That idea does work, and clearly you haven't seen Chompy Mage obviously. His figure has his staff on it, but he has a bazooka in game. Grave Clobber could just not have his sword out. Blaster-Tron for all we know, that could be his gun but he could be a brawler, that could be something like Fisticuff's. We still don't know yet. We can't assume hes a Knight, and I honestly think they could come up with some really cool ideas for Grave Clobber to be a Knight and Blaster-Tron to be a Brawler.

And I'll have you know it took me a while to come up with that idea and you insulting it and calling it dumb is quite rude. Maybe re-think your words before acting like a jerk.

jessalakasam.Chain Reaction is tech because he has gears and looks tech. Buckshot is the magic bowslinger. Because the tech one is Ro-Bow

@Jessalakasam sorry but that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, buckshot can't be tech because he's a bowslinger, we already have a tech bowslinger, chain reaction literally has a giant gear on his forehead, doesn't matter how bad you wanted buckshot to be tech for whatever reason, he's magic end of story

2 @Luminous35 really hand that turns into a sword.....

+Android Kain For all we know, that sword above Blaster-Tron's head might be a laser coming out of his fist. We won't know for sure until the game comes out.

dark52, PLEASE GO AHEAD AND LIST WILD STORM AS A KNIGHT
HE'S HOLDING A SWORD FOR GOODNESS SAKES
