Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

It's nice to see they gave some of the other villains a chance rather than just using Doom Raiders.

I'm loving the new Sensai for Undead smilie

I think Hoodsickle as Dark was a nice surprise.

If Fisticuffs becomes a Skylander, i would buy him immediately, my favorite villain of all time

VV I actually think he kinda fits Fire. Fire SKylanders don't need to have fire on some part of their body to be Fire (Flameslinger, Fryno, Wildfire)

Really only some of the Light and Dark characters were ACTUALLY Light and Dark.

Luminous, it goes without saying.
Eye Five's Electric Pulse serves as a Light elemental attack. SORT OF, at least.
Blaster-Tron's Future Beam is basically his Light element attack.
Lob Goblin uses Electrical Mines, which is more of a Tech element attack if you ask me.

Basically, three/four of the Light Villains aren't actually Light Villains.

Nightshade, again, it goes without saying.
Eye Scream is more of an Undead element Villain.
Tae Kwon Crow is portrayed as a ninja, but doesn't really have any Dark-element attack except for his katana and shurikens.
I don't even know where Fisticuffs comes from.

Pretty much, the Doom Raiders of the Light and Dark elements are more deserving to be Senseis of the Light and Dark elements. Except freakin' Hood Sickle and Eye Five. smilie

VVV But does Eye Five really scream "LIGHT ELEMENT" to you? He doesn't even fit the apperance well, but then again, looking at Tae in the Fire Element....

V Exactly they could have just added the sword and staff for reference or for extra variety

may i say somthing? you do realize that the fact that a sword that look like blaster tron and a staff that look like the one of broccoli guy staff doesn't mean those villains will reformd? i mean we all saw in the demo a kaos backpack but it came out from an imaginate, and the recent events showd me that we cant count on rumours, we need cold hard facts to truly know how will be skylander and who will stay villain.

@PortalMasterone EXACTLY. I mean, if light already has a villain that would make more sense to be brawler then Luminous, then they need to add him.

Same thing with Sheep Creep, he had a bazooka so there is such a high chance he will be the bazooker and people want to deny it.

One way or another we'll have to wait for an official release or another leak for any real confirmation

if they were make quadrupedal class i think they will calld at "beast class"

Sorry for my opinion, but I don't think Sheep Creep will be a Sensei

How will a quadrupedal character work as a Sensei if you cannot create any quadrupedal Imaginators?

V I was actually considering Chill Bill as well, so I am sure they're going to find some way to fit him in, and you make a valid point about the Chompy Mage, even though I don't think he's going to make the cut.

#1458 Howling Woofer 10:50:56 17/07/2016
V You make a lot of good points, I could see Sheep Creep working as a Bazooker and I could imagine Brawl & Chain as a knight if he replaced one of his hooks with a blade but I still think the Chompy Mage could be a Bazooker, he could use a chompy pod to shoot chompies and while Eye Five is more than fitting to be a brawler I could see Luminous filling that spot as well

Everyone, I apologize for my recent negativity on this site, so please forgive me. Also, here are a few things that I think might happen:

1. By the process of elimination, I think Eye Five is going to make the cut as a Brawler instead of Luminous, so sorry in advance to Luminous35 if he doesn't.
2. I think Sheep Creep is going to be the Life Villain Sensei this year as a Bazooker just by the process of elimination.
3. I think Activision is going to bring back Brawl & Chain as a Knight, even thought it sounds crazy, just think of it.
