Sigh, I just hope it's worth it, that's a whole lot of great stories wasted.

Ditto! But this is definitely going to grab attention with the actors. The only thing left for VU to do is to wait for a bunch of good reviews before they greenlight more game making.

They're remaking the series all right. This is the perfect remake of Spyro's origin. I like it!

Oh yeah! Here's what was said by him concerning the title and future titles:

NS: So, this is a prequel of sorts, right?

SL: Well, "prequel" implies that this story somehow leads up to the story presented in earlier games, but it doesn't - this story completely replaces any story that has come before. It's kind of like what Frank Miller's Dark Knight was for Batman.

and...

NS: Yeah, that's what I was going to ask. I was going to say, is there a plot element that leads chronologically into the future titles, but you pre-empted me. So good for you!

SL: I'd say this game is certainly a set-up for future titles that will come later. Unlike the early Spyro games (which are near and dear to my heart), there will be continuity and multi-title story arcs from game to game.

So don't trust wikipedia all the time, its full of assumptions.

The Krome or whatever have said "forget everything you thought you knew about spyro." in other words, this is no meant to be a prequel of the known spyro universe. There is enough evidence to know now that this isn't a real prequel or sequel to the original series. Check out some previews and interviews...they all say it. That's probably where wikipedia got its source from. I don't feel that bad about it though. The game came out eight years ago, I wasn't expecting there to be anything beyond the trilogy. The fact that it is being revived today is a lot more than I'd ever expected, and I'm alright with it. As long as its fun, I don't care if they continue the original series or not. If I want to play the real spyro, I can put in those three original disks, but being honest we are only a minority of spyro fans who actually kept with the series after the trilogy. Other old spyro fans don't care anymore. To them its the same thing over and over again. If they tried to continue it, critics would lash it and no one would buy it. It wouldn't be smart on the part of the maker. Don't hate me for saying it, but I really hope that this isn't the same as the original trilogy. I really don't want it to stay true to its platformer roots because it will get the same criticism--that it hasn't grown up or changed and that its the same thing over and over again. And frankly, five games of a similar formula were enough for me. I think it's round time to move on anyway. I don't care if its a prequel or not.

I don't believe that will happen Dragginwings. Take the Mario series, for example. Last year alone five Mario games were released(a platformer, a kart game, a dance game, a football game and baseball game), with two games all ready out this year, so that is seven games in less than two years( and those games are the latest in a long line of Mario games) compared to eleven games( excluding the mobile ones but including ANsmilie in eight. Also, in the DS interview on Sliced Gaming, it said that there shall be future games, not to mention the fact that ANB is a reboot and I doubt they would have done this if only for it to be the last game in the series.

After dis 1 comes out, I think that they will shut down Spyro game- making4good. Sorry, I think that, and I hope I'm rong. That's what happens to games w/ too many sequils- say FINAL good-byes with 1 LAST EXELLENT game, out for every console that there is to play on. Say good-bye to NEW, FRESH, Spyro games. smilie
