The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning

Released in October 2006, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning, is said to be the first of a new reset storyline and was developed by Krome Studios (PS2, XBOX, GCN, GBA) and Amaze Entertainment (DS).

Features

• Action/combat orientated
• New breath abilities, fury attacks, melee and aerial combo attacks
• Upgradeable breath abilities
• The new storyline explores Spyro's origins, all the way back to when he hatched and was raised by a family of dragonflies
• Fire, Earth, Electric and Ice breaths.
• The villain is a female black dragon called Cynder.
• Krome Studios are taking care of the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube and GBA versions whilst Amaze Entertainment are making the DS version again.
• Five bosses to fight during the game
• Spyro returns to the skies
• Elijah Wood as the voice of Spyro
• David Spade as the voice of Sparx
• Gary Oldman as the voice of Ignitus: a red dragon, the Fire Dragon Elder and Spyro's mentor.
• Named enemies. A lot of creatures that Spyro attacks will have their own individual name (randomly assigned except for significant enemies such as bosses or some small creatures). You can read a complete list of all of the bits of the names, and view a Random Enemy Name Generator.

we all miss you david spade, come back in future spyro games!
lol game totaly cool so many new stuff for this new beginning lol
i must say if anyone dose not like this game then they must be born somewhere other than earth in my opinion (no avence) (sorry spelling i think)
must say one of the best games keep up the good work spyro and yey to cynder and sparks for making the game more interesting and funnier!lol
TEN was brilliant but DOTD will be out of this worls lol

Dylanawesome: Okay. =] The way I do it is to simply keep running from her, then occasionally stop, turn and jump towards her, pressing circle three times for that melee thing (it works best if you're above her, because then it's harder for her to attack you). Then get away quickly before she hits you with her tail, wings or claws (try charging away), and keep on the inside ring while she breathes fire. You might want to keep moving too, or she can get too close to you and burn you. Keep a good distance from her when you aren't attacking her or she'll swipe you with her tail, which can cover a pretty wide range.

Earth Breath works a treat on her, but only if you've powered it up fully. If you haven't, stick to Fire and try breathing it at her in little blasts before you melee her.

I re-read that and it all looked very confusing. =/ But I hope I helped. =]

Yeah, David Spade's voice just sounds right for Sparx... and I wish he'd continued it for The Eternal Night because Sparx has some hilarious lines in that too. =]

Spyro: "If we come from the same place, why is she so... so..."
Sparx: "Evil? Monstrous? Big? Sexy? Oops... did I just say that?"

^ That makes me laugh every time. xD

spyrorockforeva: I still love the old games... there's something about them, you know? But I think the plot of the Legend of Spyro series is better. And Sparx is just 500 times more brilliant in these games! He's hilarious... David Spade does the best Sparx voice in my opinion. =D Cynder's also a great addition to the story. =]

this game is great but all my friends not like the new story line but i think the TLOS is better than the old story line ( not that i don't like the old story or anything it is just that i prefere this one) and sparks is really funny throughout the whole game. I think the new charecters are great expesully cynder. cynder rules.

When playing this game i get a glitch in the second flight level. The flight starts and after about tenn secs the screen goes purple. All i can see is spyro and the fireballs that cyner shoots. Spyro keep flying forever in the purple sky.

I have completed this game about nine times and I really wish it was a longer game... partly because I want to hear Sparx speak more.
