Unfortunately it appears that the previously announced The Legend of Spyro 3D movie has been cancelled.
Aura24 recently got in contact with one of the writers and got this response:

Did you consider writing the gaming company? They're the ones who made the decision to go in a different direction. And if we knew what that direction was we'd share it with you. Again sorry for the disappointment. Wish we had more encouraging news for you.

well, that may explain why they didn't tell us it wasn't coming out- so they wouldn't have to give us news about the new game. and maybe the 'unconfirmed' credits music was actually supposed to be in the new game.

I am not surpriced. I agree with Razz to be honest. Spyro is a game series. Not a movie.

Yeah, I wasn't too surprised. I guess the world just isn't ready for a Spyro movie yet.
I have a feeling this is because Activision is going through all of the crazy legal nonsense with Infinity Ward that they don't have the time or money to continue to invest in a movie about a character that, quite frankly, not a lot of people remember. (Or at least, not enough people to draw a crazy revenue from alone).
^ I agree, hardly anyone will remember Spyro, if you think about it, it was just 3 random games that started it off, and Spyro really hasn't created any good history for itself.

The unveiling of the brand new logo and updated designs of the main cast, which are based on hybrid blend of the original universe and Legend of Spyro, will start appearing in May. People who grew up with Spyro when they were children loved Spyro, I loved him anyway, that game used to make me so happy, these later games are a bit depressing and Spyro isn't what he used to be, back in 1998, he used to be a lovable cute little dragon and now.....never mind, is all I can say.

There is no information on the next game, since Activision being reclusive on details for the time being.
I wouldve of went to see the movie,since i like a bit of New Spyro but I think it would be bad anyway.
