Unfortunately it appears that the previously announced The Legend of Spyro 3D movie has been cancelled.
Aura24 recently got in contact with one of the writers and got this response:

Did you consider writing the gaming company? They're the ones who made the decision to go in a different direction. And if we knew what that direction was we'd share it with you. Again sorry for the disappointment. Wish we had more encouraging news for you.

No, I do NOT want it to be rushed. That is one of the reasons why I'm losing interests in Spyro, the games are being rushed!

I guess Activision is allowing Crash to have his own movie, but not Spyro.

The Darkest Hour was the original title for Dawn of the Dragon, cynders. Do your research and don't just blurt out any original titles of previous Spyro games and fan-made titles you think it's official.
And the reason the movie is cancelled was Activision taking the Spyro series in a different direction.

well i was going to support them if they made the movie by seeing if we could make the book, but then they dropped i got every spyro thing they had but they decided not to make the movie. and im to mad at them now to support them.

i am there extra hand aura. im not like any fan. i made a website for spyro. ill talk to everyone who made the fan art comic strips and get the ok. to make a comic book then ship the copy to activision for there ok. and then you will see comic books. and then ill try to see if we could make the book. and before you know, it im getting to talk about making that movie work again.

All you're trying to do is annoy them in trying to make the Spyro Movie again, which is not going to happen. And a book about Spyro is probably not going to happen either. Either you accept that the movie is cancelled and wait for the next game, or you'll continue trying to make the Spyro Movie happen, being like the other fans who are in denial that the movie's not cancelled.

Also, the Legend of Spyro is a TRILOGY. Dawn of the Dragon is the LAST game of the trilogy, after A New Beginning and The Eternal Night, and the next game won't be named The Legend of Spyro since it's name of the trilogy.

It may sound odd but i'm relieved it's been cancelled. It may have only made Spyro go downhill (to me he went downhill since Enter The Dragonfly)
