The reason why he's purple is because; originally he was going to be green, but because of all the green in the environments, they wanted a color that would stick out nice. Personally, I think purple is a nice color and I don't associate it with 'girly' colors. But that's just me. 
same here i got this game when i was 4 when it fiost come out im know 13 (10 years spyro fan xD)
This was my first game i ever got. I got it when i 4 or 5 and i'm now 11. (well almost 11) I loved Spyro ever since i was 4. Hey is anyone on spyro's lair if anyone is have u met Jessie if u have well SHE'S ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CYNDER'S SOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Um... I dont wana be rude but why do you do cheats? That reaks the game and dont be mean bcoz Spyro isnt a girl. He may be purple so if you were him how will like it like ppl said "I thought he was a girl of being purple" American Spyro stop being rude and Cynder just stop showing off. I havent even finshed this game. What a dumb question "Why doesnt it work" Thats because you are not pose to give cheats, God sakes some ppl are crazy.
