Story
The story and background for the new types of toys is as detailed below:
In Skylanders Trap Team, Kaos continues his ongoing quest to rule over Skylands. He has discovered the location of the legendary Cloudcracker Prison -- a fortress built entirely out of the magical substance Traptanium and home to Skylands' most nefarious baddies. In an attempt to build his own army of foes, Kaos blows up the prison, releasing the most wanted villains and blasting shards of Traptanium to Earth in the form of Traps. Now it's up to Portal Masters to recapture all of the escaped villains using powerful Traptanium Traps and defeat Kaos before it's too late!
Characters
All pre-existing figures work with Trap Team but of course there is a whole slew of new toys to collect. First to note are the 18 new Trap Masters, Trap Masters are a larger Skylander toy that wields a translucent "Traptanium" weapon and has an advantage when fighting the capturable villains. There are also 18 new core Skylanders who will join the fight, new mini versions of old characters as well as several reposed fan-favourites from previous adventures.
Here are pictures of all of the so far revealed brand new Skylanders:

To help differentiate between the old and new sets, the base of the Skylanders for Skylanders Trap Team is coloured red instead of the green/orange/blue currently seen on the Spyro's Adventure, Giants and SWAP Force toys.
Traps
Another new toy added with Trap Team is the Trap. These translucent crystals are made of Traptanium and are essential for capturing the various villains. Each Trap is a specific element and allows you to capture villains that match that element.

Comments
It probably needs to be a bit faster ( ball speed) , but it's much more interesting idea then all the other light beam or lock puzzles we have to solve. At least pinball is an actual game.

V Thank you
But i want a link to the stories
I can't even beat the time goal because of them, even though I'm using Night Shift to dash through the rest of the level, these puzzles just infuriate me!
The "Multi-Ball Expanse" room is the one that angers me the most...
I do.
Born in a city of crystal and gold atop Cats Eye Mountain, the young Scratch loved soaring through the sky and searching through the many gemstone mines. Her idyllic life was shattered when a band of Pirate Greebles invaded, plotting to steal the magical gems that lied deep inside the mountain. Donning her golden armor, Scratch led the counter-attack against the invaders and fought them off, saving the city and catching the eye of Jet-Vac, who invited her to join the Skylanders.
For years, soothsayers and psychics had predicted the birth of a dragon-phoenix cross. So, when the newly hatched Sunburn was catapulted into the world from his cozy volcanic nest, he became the drag-nix (or phoe-gon?) everyone wanted to meet. Sunburn became a target for every thief, bandit and evil sorcerer who wanted a piece of his powers. Thankfully, being able to both throw flames and teleport was a handy defense. Still for Sunburn, Skylands was not a safe place. Luckily, Master Eon also noticed his amazing abilities and made him a Skylander. This not only provided Sunburn with protection, but gave him a license to incinerate evil. It also provided plenty of opportunities to play teleporting pranks on his new teammates.
I bought EE
I got my free comic
that was it.
BTW, no sight of wave 3, if i found the wave 3 traps, i would've got them.
Only my target had wave 2, and not a lot...
Seriously, why does my GS only stock up on wave 1, it's 0.3 miles away from me, so i can walk, but, i mean, it's ridiculous...
