The Story
Every twelve years, the Dragon Kingdom celebrates its most important event: the "Year of the Dragon" Festival. Fairies deliver a new batch of dragon eggs and dragons come from all around to dance and feast until everyone drops from...eggshaustion.
The Year of the Dragon is upon us again and the fairies have brought 150 eggs to the Dragon Worlds. However, unbeknownst to the celebrating dragons, a sinister plot is about to unfold...
Far away - on the opposite side of the world - lies a kingdom long since forgotten by dragonkind. So forgotten, in fact, that even the legends about these "Forgotten Worlds" have now been forgotten.
This kingdom is ruled by a mean and spiteful Sorceress who has frankly become quite fed up with being forgotten. As she sits on her forgotten throne, the Sorceress has hatched a fiendishly evil plan. A plan to restore the fading magic to her forgotten realm. A plan to conquer the dragons once and for all. All she needs is a little help from her army of horn-nosed 'rhynocs', the cooperation of her mysterious disciple Bianca and of course, those 150 magical dragon eggs.

Gems are strangely identical to the last game. Strangely because Avalar and The Forgotten Worlds are most likely further away from each other then the Dragon Realms is from the Forgotten Worlds. Strange how they have the Avalar set of gems rather than the Dragon Realms set, maybe the Sorceress had the GemCutters in from Avalar though.
Gem Colour | Gem Value |
---|---|
Red | 1 |
Green | 2 |
Purple | 5 |
Yellow | 10 |
Pink | 25 |
The same containers for the gems as in Avalar. However here you get gems from killing the Rhynocs whereas in Avalar they released a Spirit Particle. Also this game sees the return of a locked chest, slightly different in appearence from the first game, but you will still need to find a key to open them.
Anyway, on with the walkthrough, and on to Sunrise Spring!
Comments
This first glitch is in the Sunrise Springs Home World. (Yeah, they have a lot of swimming glitches in the home worlds of Spyro 3.) First, get to the cave where Hunter gave you the egg. Once there, find some way to get through the Superfly Power-Up without touching the ground. (Charging against the wall, falling, and gliding into the Superfly Power-Up always works for me.) Once you're flying, continuously press the X-Button to flap your wings over and over. Once outside, head for the tree that you see at the beginning of the level (when you first enter Sunrise Springs). You need to land on top of the tree. In order to do this, simply push the analog stick slightly up while flying while at the same time pressing the X-Button. It may take practice, but you should land on top of the tree. Now glide or charge-glide over to the platform ahead of you. (Either way of getting over there works.) DO NOT GLIDE TO THE LEFT WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO LAND ON THE PLATFORM!!!! The ground may appear to be there, but don't be fooled!!!! If you try to land on that platform (with the path on it), you will fall to your death since it's not even there. Once you're on top of the landing outside of the level, jump down and glide underneath the water. Headbash just at the right time (when you headbash, your head should only be above the water) and WHALAH!!!! You are swimming in the air!!!!
The second swimming glitch is in Bamboo Terrace. (This swimming glitch is less complicated than the previous swimming glitch.) Get to the place where the waterfall is. Get up close to the edge of the waterfall (without falling off), then press the Square button to swim. And, you are swimming in the air!!!! Another glitch you can do in this level is the Theif Glitch. (This only works the first time you play the level.) In order for this to work, you must not have the bridge to cross over the water up. Get to the place where you help the 3 Pandas reach the switch and open the bridge. DO NOT HELP EVERY SINGLE PANDA BEAR!!!! IF YOU DO, THE GLITCH WILL NOT WORK!!!! Go to the steps that lead you to the one platform with the rhynoc guarding the egg. Jump up a few steps, turn around, and jump onto the roof of the little Hut. You should be able to land on top of it. Once there, jump and glide straight ahead to where the bridge would lead you. Do the swimming glitch (see above), and chase the little thief with the egg. DO NOT KILL THE THIEF YET!!!! Once you get to the part where you help the Panda's again, watch the theif!!!! He will appear to be walking on top of the water, but then he'll sink out of sight. Go underneath this part of the level, and you will see the theif floating on the air. If you try to get the egg from him, you will unfortunately die since he'll go so low that Spyro will die.
If you have any trouble preforming these glitches, please comment to me ASAP!!!! If you don't want to ask me for advice (which will make me very sad-just kidding), just type in your search engine these titles in order to see these glitches:
1.) Sunshine Springs Swimming Glitch
2.) Bamboo Terrace Swimming Glitch
3.) Bamboo Terrace Thief Glitch
Watch how they're done, and enjoy the glitches!!!!
Spyro Swimming Glitch #6!!!!
(There are a lot of swimming glitches in Spyro, but they're so fun to do.)
Yup, that's right. Swimming Glitch #6!!!! This glitch is to swim in the air in the Evening Lake home world. First, go to the Fireworks Factory level. (For this glitch, it doesn't matter whether you warp to the level, or enter the level physically.) Once there, go to the right and burn yourself 4 to 5 times (depending on how much power Sparx has). When you're burning yourself, pause the game just when you touch the lava after Sparx has disappeared. It may take a while for you to do, but you should be able to do it. Your controller should shake if you've done it right. (If not, exit the level and kill some fodder. If Sparx returns, you've haven't done it right.) After that, leave the level. (NOTE: YOU MUST EXIT TO THE EVENING LAKE HOME WORLD OR THE GLITCH WILL NOT WORK!!!!) Once in Evening Lake, swim up to the surface of the water and you should be swimming in the air!!!! When in glitch mode, you can go almost anywhere, including the place where the Sorceress caught Hunter. (Side Note: If you go there while Hunter's still caught, he won't be there, unfortunately. ) Although, while swimming in the air in Evening Lake, DO NOT SWIM INTO THE WHALES INSIDES!!!! (Unless you still haven't gotten the egg in this level. You can try this, but I don't know if you'll escape from the whale.). If you do, you are stuck forever. And since you've nearly killed Spyro when attemping the glitch, you can't pause the game. So, you have to re-set the whole game if you get stuck in here. Well, I gotta run. Make sure to read my two slogans I came up with before you stop reading this!!!!
Slogan #1: Happy Swimming!!!!
Slogan #2: "You've might as well be swimming in the air!!!!"-A quote from Al Yankovic's Polka Power Song I've adapted for the Spyro game.
(My other posts are on the Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage OR Spyro 2: Gateway To Glimmer link.)
This is a glitch I found off of You-Tube. This is where you get to swim in the air in Midday Gardans. Go to the part where you are near the super-flame power-up. Jump onto the flat rock located to the left of the power-up, and to the right of the steps. Now charge glide to your right and you should land on the straight rock-like platform. Now fly through the rock ahead of you, and get underneath the little river. When you are under there, do a headbash. If you do it right, you should be swimming in the air. If not, you will either fall to your death or land on top of the river. You can also do the same thing in order to walk underneath the lake at the beginning of the level of Midday Gardens. Instead of gliding straight toward the little river, glide to the left, and land on the ground of the lake. You should be walking underneath the lake. And, to undo the walking underwater glitch, just headbash, and you will be swimming. Then go up to the surface, and Spyro will go back to normal.
Warning: THIS GLITCHES ARE SUPER-SUPER HARD TO PREFORM!!!! On a scale of hardness from 1-10, 1 being the easiest, 10 being the hardest, this glitch has got to be an 8.5 difficulty. But if you achieve it, it's fun to do, and you should be able to do it more quickly later on.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again. HAPPY SWIMMING!!!!
WARNING: SPOILER COMING YOUR WAY!!!!
After supposedly defeating the Sorceress, Spyro sets off to look for Hunter, who supposedly disappeared after Spyro confronted the Sorceress. Spyro goes from world to world looking for him, and encounters Elora (from Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage OR Spyro 2: Gateway To Glimmer) in Agent 9's level. Everybody seems to avoid the subject on where Hunter is. Spyro eventually finds Hunter with Bianca in Fireworks Factory. Bianca kisses Hunter, and Spyro tells Sparx that Hunter will probably not help him out on his journey to find the Dragon Eggs. Elora tries to convince Spyro to take a break and enjoy the show, but Spyro just shakes his head. The last scene you see before the credits role for the first time is Sparx flying in front of the camera. The next part of the story is when you finish every single level and have collected every single dragon egg and gem. You then go into the Super Bonus World Level. Once there, you meet Bianca who tells you about how this place was the place where the Sorceress kept all of her treasure. Catch the theives with the gems, and you'll be able to access all of the levels. These levels include a race against six yeti's, and shooting down theives in a sub that Hunter had fixed up so you can access it. You also get a Super Flame/Flying Power-Up in order to flame down the sheep saucers flying around the home level. After you've collected every single gem, you go into the final portal where you have to face the Sorceress again. Bianca gives you a board that has infinate fire power and flying abilities. Fight the Sorceress for the final time, and then collect the very last egg. The scene at the end shows Spyro retrieving a dragon and giving it to the Elder. The Elder then picks up the dragon, snuggles with it, and then the little dragon burps in his face. The Elder puts the dragon down, and the little dragon burps again. This time, near Spyro. Spyro shakes his head, and you few the credits the final time. The game is now over.
