In the culmination of the trilogy, players find Spyro teaming up with an unlikely ally - Cynder, his former enemy, to face his most challenging mission to date. As the Dark Master's (voiced by Mark Hamill) evil envelopes the world like a plague, Spyro must fulfill his destiny and unlock the true power of the purple dragon within him to stop the Dark Master in his tracks.

Story
Three long years have passed since Spyro and Cynder were trapped in the crystal, since then Malefor has unleashed his evil onto the world. In this third chapter of the epic Legend of Spyro trilogy, Spyro must fulfil his destiny and face the Dark Master. As evil spreads over the world, Spyro and Cynder must discover new abilities and unlock their true powers to defeat Malefor and stop him from destroying the world.

Skylanders is a reboot, that's why. LoS Spyro has nothing to do with Skylanders Spyro.
i dont get it if dawn of the dragon spyro gets gems as power wat about in skylands!?.............................................oh wait they do have some gems

I only played skylanders what was so good about these games?
People almost always complain for the sake of it, even if they don't have a reason to (some LoS fans have little reason to complain about the Classics, may I remind everyone).
What i dont get, People compalin about the upadated Spyro games, saying 'They should of continued with the original theme, EG, collecting gems from floors, going in protals'..... Just say it did go that way so there was no LOS or Skylanders, then people would stil be complaining saying, 'Its getting to old now', 'Its ran its course' and all that. People only complain for the sake of it

I would've thought it did combine with nature or do something, since I thought those dragon spirits who imprisoned him would've made sure he couldn't come back?

I think you get a memory card with your PS2. That or you need to buy it separate..
