Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Okay that trailer confirmed a whole lot allow me to sum it up
1: Pain-yatta is a smasher but he still uses his lollipop and not a candy axe.
2: The Chompy mage is a bazooker he traded his staff for a special chompy bazooka p.s I so called it!
3: Since we still don't officially know what battle class the light villain is (given the poster leak I think it's definitely Blaster-tron) that means Grave Clobber still has the potential to be a Knight (but don't take my word for it).
4: This game is gonna be AWESOME!
P.s at 1:28 on the right behind Ambush Pit Boss is a sorcerer

did any one recognized pain ytta or bad juju in the poster?

no wait i see on magic a figure holding a giant lollipop, that painyatta folks.

and it think i see pit boss holding a stuff.
well lets hope that if there will be a seventh, there will be an equal number of light and dark there.

i guess the only Bazooker and Quickshotr originals we will see will be flarewolf and that female waterlander.

now that i think about it, sense there will be less light and dark (again) it means that technically we have a full roster, the two bowslingers are probably magic and tech and except full approval on some skylanders we have now a complete roster, we only need right now are names, classes, full figures and game play.

i just saw a new trailer in facebook, the hodded bowslinger is really is a tech and chompy mage is a bazooker!

I think the yeti is magic looking at the poster so I guess the hood guy is tech some how

Just occurred to me, if knights can have things like Popsicle sticks and hot dogs, maybe chompy Mage is the knight villain with his chompy stick

Oh but then there's ambush the life knight so nevermind

superchargers actually had reason for the number of light and dark, there was no two legged skylanders from past game to be upgraded to superchargers. but here i don't see any reasons why they shouldend have equal number of skylanders like the rest of the elements.

on this game

I'm gonna state my probably unpopular opinion that adding characters from previous games (bowser, do, crash, and cortex) is really stupid, kind sir f borderline copying Disney infinity, but I guess all is fair considering Disney infinity tremendously copied them in the first place, either way, hate how original characters are getting bumped for lame random characters from random games, I have not yet, nor will I ever buy any of the characters from non skylander games. In fact if they'd bumped any other elements other than light and dark I probably wouldn't bother getting the game at all.

(Bowser, DK, crash, and cortex)

Don't mean they're are question marks, just mean could this poster be unfinished on purpose

THEIR are, stupid autocorrect

THERE that one was me woops

do you see any question mark?

It does look like blastertron though do @colton I stand corrected

Could this be some kind of place holder poster like trap team had the question marks?
