Story
The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!
Characters
For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.
The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis
"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).
Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".
Creation Crystal
Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.
Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!
Starter Pack
In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).
There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.
And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.
Platforms
The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.
Comments
Catchphrase: "Spin It To Win It!"
"Hello, Portal Master! I can teach your Imaginators many of the martial arts I've picked up over the years; Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Kung-Fu, Ninjitzu, and my personal favorite... the Spinning Bandicoot! (laughs)"
"If your Imaginators have what it takes to be a Brawler like myself, my Secret Technique will definitely come in handy."
"Whoo-hoo!"
"Aww... just like the old days with Spyro."
"TNT crates; my second favorite explosive!"
"Belly flop! Not that I'm in the pool or anything."
"Hey look, Aku Aku, a me-shaped hole!"
"Punches, punches, and more punches!"
"If only Coco and Crunch were here to see this...."
"Almost as good as Wumpa Fruit!" (when collecting treasure)
"Time for the ol' one-two!" (upon entering a fight)
"Yo-yo a-go-go!" (when performing Sky-Chi)
"That's all, folks!" (after finishing Sky-Chi)
"Ha-ha! I still got it!" (when winning a fight)
"Slide to the left, slide to the right."
"Hmm, maybe I need to cut down on the Wumpa Whip." (upon being revived)
"Whoa!" (upon dying)
"That was a real doosey!"
"There's gonna being Wumpa Whip everywhere! (laughs manically)"
Even though I agree with Pokelander that all the Doom Raiders are coming back, I thick that he should just wait till everything is announced, or he has real proof other than "common sense" we can speculate about the villains but we shouldn't call each other stupid just because they have a different opinion
I'll just wait for the bridge to cross it, or however that went.
She, Chompy Mage (for God knows why) and Gulper are the three least liked Villains for people. But she's the most liked of the three.
Just...stop. Wait until everything has been confirmed before you start with your "common sense" rambling again. Is that so hard to ask?
EDIT: That wasn't me, that was my friend. But he does have a point, Pokelander. I would have just sugar-coated it.
Dreamcatcher unless she shoots (or spits in her case) things she really doesn't have many options. But quite frankly she was the least liked villian in the game and being a game designer it seems like a bad marketing idea using a character that doesn't have a huge fan following, but I could be wrong as you could.
But we are speculating cause it keeps things fresh and the hype up, so all we're asking is you stop "confirming" things before they are announced.
Confirmed
Golden Queen - Golden Queen.
Wolfgang - Bowslinger
Krankcase - Quickshot
Pain-Yatta - Smasher
Not-Confirmed
Gulper - Sentinel
Chef Pepper Jack - Bazooker
Chompy Mage - Swashbuckler
Dreamcatcher - Brawler
Luminous - Knight
Nightshade - Ninja
Now, Gulper just seems like the easy choice for Sentinel. There was a dual sided Trident, and he uses a Trident. I'm pretty sure if they planned on using Gulper, he'd be a Sentinel. Now, Chef Pepper Jack I'm not 100% sure on, but I can see him being a Bazooker. They can give him a tomato bazooka! Chompy Mage is one i'm not so sure about either. Maybe he could have two Chompy Staff's? But what would happen to Chompy Puppet then? Though I can't think of anything better for him. Dreamcatcher's best option at the moment is Brawler, because of the Art Theory is right, were supposed to get a Air Brawler, and it seems like the only fitting thing for her. Luminous and Nightshade are obvious ones. Luminous could either be a Knight, Sentinel, or a Swashbuckler, but I think Knight suits him best. He already has the knight vibe. Nightshade being a ninja is obvious though.

VV Yeah...sorry about that Pokelander. To make things clear, first of all, that was my friend (who snuck onto my account) and secondly, he didn't call him stupid. He just said it makes him LOOK like a fool. Sort of the same thing, really.
But I do have to agree with my friend here, I just would have said it nicer.
Oh, and by the way guys, go to the official Skylanders Imaginators forum for screenshots from Skylanders Academy...the TV show!
