Released in October 2006, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning, is said to be the first of a new reset storyline and was developed by Krome Studios (PS2, XBOX, GCN, GBA) and Amaze Entertainment (DS).

Features

- The new storyline explores Spyro's origins, all the way back to when he hatched and was raised by a family of dragonflies

- Krome Studios are taking care of the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube and GBA versions whilst Amaze Entertainment are making the DS version again.
- Five bosses to fight during the game
- Spyro returns to the skies
- Elijah Wood as the voice of Spyro
- David Spade as the voice of Sparx
- Gary Oldman as the voice of Ignitus: a red dragon, the Fire Dragon Elder and Spyro's mentor.
- Named enemies. A lot of creatures that Spyro attacks will have their own individual name (randomly assigned except for significant enemies such as bosses or some small creatures). You can read a complete list of all of the bits of the names, and view a Random Enemy Name Generator.

Hey everyone what did you think of that sort of ultimate breath you use against Cynder?
To Flare, think of this game as a movie instead, not a game. It might explain the shortnes. I do agree with you in the shortness though, I played it twice and the second time I beat it in 5 hours and 45 mins. Also I used a extremly cheaper way then what yo did against Cynder but still, enjoy the game.

I just bought the game, and I finished it in 7h and 52min (without any walkthroughs), so I think this game was WAY TOO SHORT! I would've wanted to use the cool new combat system more, but as there only was 3 worlds in this which were all very short, I could for example only use my earth breath on a few enemies.
All bosses were too easy to defeat (even Cynder! All you got to do is use the earth whirlwind on her to trap her inside it, and cast it every time it ends, and just watch her slowly lose all her health) and worlds too short and easy to complete. The combat system was very good, and I looked forwards to try it, but as the game was completed in 8h, I didn't get to enjoy the new earth breath fully.
So with other words, I used 40€ (around 40$?) on a game which didn't even take a day to complete.
5½/10 is how I rate the game.

September 10th, 2007 ( or 23rd of october in EU) will be Spyro's 10th birthday!! So I'm pretty sure that there will be a new Spyro game next year to honor his 10 years

I just might have a party @ my house to celebrate!!! I'll invite a few Spyro fanatics over and have a sleepover and sneak my PS2 in my room (next to my PS1 that's in there now) and game ALL NIGHT LONG!!
