In the GBA version Ignitus is in the arena and he said he could distract the pirates while Spyro flew away, while he was flying, he fainted... the temple with the Chronicler.

Not to mention the fact the first Spyro the Dragon game ever made has only 137 pages, and LoS: TEN has 206 (especially considering it was made way after the first game)...
