SUPERSTITION:
Spyro in Japanese basically spells Ripto. That first character would be a "R" with one line added. So maybe Ripto is a clone of Spyro that went bad because a Asian person jumped in the clone machine, and WAKAPOW!!!!!!! RIPTO IS BORN!
