I think that Spyro and Cynder wearing armer and helmets look pretty cool . The armer and stuff makes the game a little bit similar to the third age.

No, that's the Destroyer at the end of the trailer. Malefor is still a dragon, not a lava monster.
I wonder if that thing at the end of the trailer ( That Lava thing) was Malifor ( the dark master) .
