Spyro: A Hero's Tail

The fifth major console version of the little purple dragon has arrived. Spyro returns this time developed by the company behind such games as Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy and Crash Bash. Eurocom. They bring with them a fresh feel to the series that had been nearly completely ruined by the efforts of the last company in Enter the Dragonfly.

Spyro: A Hero's Tail is released on all three major consoles, the PS2, GameCube and Xbox. Featuring five playable characters including one brand new character, Blink the mole.

I was finished with this game within a week or so. Also, i recently bought this game from ebay because it is such a good game. My older one broke which was a shame. Plus, from this game, every Spyro game just fell apart. Spyro will never be the same with this new Skylanders rubbish. I wish they made more games like the older ones. Also, friend me because Im new!!!

@ Hawaii Five: Like I told you in a previous game page, you should check out the main forums, that's where all the 'action' is at.

@TorchSheep: Yep, it's like Eurocom actually understood what Spyro would be like in a certain situation with these characters, and it seems that Insomniac, possibly didn't have enough time to bring out every extract of his personality. In the PS games, you do get hints of his personality, and overall, Spyro can be quite funny, in a cheeky sort of way.

Yeah, I completely understand what your saying about 'Spyro's character' and that it is defintly showed off more than in the other games. I think it's mainly to do with the fact that the only times Spyro spoke in the first 4 games, was during the cutscenes, whereas in AHT he talks ALOT, including every time you encounter a new character. And to be honest I do much prefer Spyro's character in AHT as opposed to 1,2,3 and EtD

@TorchSheep: Well, I'm mainly a big fan of the character Spyro, and I think that Eurocom really brang out his personality in the game, and I find him to be a lot more interesting than before. And the levels are really detailed too, it is a hard one to decide between the two games, but for the development of Spyro's personality, I'd say that A Hero's Tail just get's ahead of Gateway to Glimmer. [With GtG, there's a big sense of nostalgia which is what AHT doesn't have. But the first three, especially the first two, have a great sense of nostalgia anyway.]

@SuperSpyroFan
Yeah I can see why, they're both phenomenal games. I feel like AHT is a better made game, but Spyro 2 just has more charm. I dunno.

@ TorchSheep: Lol, okay then. I guess it just depends on how you feel, I'm still in a sort of a mix with Spyro 2 and Spyro 5.

@SuperSpyroFan
Dude, my opinion of each game changes by the day smilie
At the moment it's:
1) Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer
2) Spyro: Year of the Dragon
3) Spyro: A Hero's Tail
4) Spyro the Dragon
5) The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon
6) Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly
7) Spyro: Season of Ice
8) Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure
Those are the games I've completed therefore can judge properly
I just CAN'T DECIDE, that's why I am replaying most of the games at the moment so I can properly establish my opinions on them. Skylanders will always be my least favorite of the one's I've played however, it was way too easy, it's characters were lame, and it's gameplay was repetitive. The only thing I liked about it was SOME of it's levels designs.

I'm beginning to think that this is my favourite Spyro game of all, with GtG in second, StD in third and finally YotD in fourth...
