Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Wait, so villain wise, it's:
Magic: Smasher (Pain-Yatta)
Tech: Quickshot (Krankcase)
Earth: Sorcerer (Golden Queen)
Air: Swashbuckler (Bad Juju)
Water: Knight (Grave Clobber)
Fire: Ninja (Tae Kwon Crow)
Life: Brawler {I really think that because in most of the art the way they fight is in the front of them in their artwork, and Chompy Mage has his puppet in the front, so that's what I'm thinking} (Chompy Mage)
Undead: Bowslinger (Wolfgang)
Dark: Sentinel (Hood Sickle)
Light: Bazooker (I'm thinking it'll be Luminous come to think of it)

These are really just my thoughts tho

Luminous is the most logical choice, Doom Raider, light, and so we should focus on the battle classes Like Grave Clobber,.....two brawlers?

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't show up.

VVV Yes, Luminous and Nightshade are both Doom Raiders. They both have 3 attacks and stuff, and had a Doom Raider boss fight.

Maybe Cortex is the -so called- 11th villain, seeing how there were two quest characters in the last game, Crash could be the first of two to be revealed

How do you get that he is one of the true sensei's and not a extra?

2 of each element basic sensei's = 20
11 villians = 31

it was never announced that crash was on the main roster. he is an extra as was bowser and donkey

But does Luminous count as a Doom Raider? He was a villain of an expansion pack, and if they brought him into this game, it wouldn't make much sense to those who haven't played the expansion packs.

At this point, Luminous is coming since so far, we have 4 doom raiders and 5 non-doom raiders. To even out the roster, they could do a fifth Doom Raider, which would be the Smart thing to do.

They say u can make any characters in this game, but I bet I can't make the one I created a while ago.

I can't show u the picture at the moment, but i'll tell u about him. He's a pink one-eyed Jelly Fish that shoots water and electric beams from it's two main tentacles. I call him Jelly Beam.

I'm kinda disappointed this time around cuz every character was revealed around the same time. I always liked that a new character would be revealed every few weeks in the older games. But anyways the charcters look awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on it!!
