Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Several of these are not confirmed at all.

I thought of some changes and these are my new predictions.
First the ones that are confirmed so people can stop discussing them:
brawlers: king pen
sorcerers: golden queen
smashers: tri-tip, chopscotch, pain-yatta
bowslingers: wolfgang, hooded skylander, sasquatch skylander
quickshots: unknown water skylander, dr krankcase
sentinels: ember, barbella, hood sickle
knights: wild storm, ambush, grave clobber
ninjas: starcast, tae kwon crow
bazookers:
swashbucklers: aurora, unknown tech skylander, bad juju

predictions:
mysticat: sorcerer
flarewolf: bazooker (i actually find that he's been confirmed as a bazooker but there are probably going to be people disagreeing with me)
pit boss: sorcerer
air strike: bazooker (his name just screams bazooker to me)
boom bloom: ninja
chompy mage: brawler (people say that he's a smasher but he can't be because pain-yatta has been CONFIRMED to be a smasher, he also seems to be the same from trap team with no changes whatsoever, why i think he's a brawler is because crash doesn't count to the official lineup with the 11th villain and all so i think that chompy mage whould be a logical choice for a brawler)

I like that they put Crash in this, I would've gotten Bowser and Donkey Kong if they worked for consoles instead of Nintendo devices.

Besides, we're not sure if they're working on a new Crash game, so isn't this better than no Crash at all?

@Android Kain: Crash IS a true Sensei, just like Bowser and Donkey Kong counted towards the 20 SuperChargers, do the math! Also, I hope Activision comes out with only 30 Senseis instead of 31 because in the past they've had an even number of Skylanders introduced.

Magaramapopfizz: I like your prediction work, but until we see some more reveals, I'll still hope Dreamcatcher will appear. I know it's a small chance, but its still a chance.

And if she doesn't, it'll be a shame, but I'll go with whatever villain pops up. Any villain is better than no villain, right?

As I predicted not all the doom raiders made the roster, I'm glad to see though that crash is not being considered a true sensei.

We all knew that dream catcher was never gonna make the roster she for lack of a better word is completely useless, so is gulper but also has the upgrade of being stupidly slowwwwwwww. Hood sickle was the better choice for dark lets be completely honest here but in all fairness I would have taken pepperjack over tae kwon purely cause the great hawkmongus was a poor character you just beat him at sky stones all the time.

My hope for light element is they throw in a serious curve ball and don't pick either luminous or eye five. And as far as the 11 villain we all know its kaos so stop speculating its blindingly obvious.
