Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

Look, judging by what we can see, it doesn't look like Chompy Mage has a bazooka...in fact he just looks like he did in Giants and Trap Team. I'm actually thinking brawler maybe

I'm actually maybe starting to think that maybe dark and light willbe treated equally because of that green bowslinger. The dark element is known to have used dark green glitter several Times

And we have that more likely than not light bowslinger as well

Question, who IS the Smasher villain, because Chompy Mage used his Cane to hit enemies, but Pain-Yatta was confirmed to return as well.

Well the confirmed ones are:
Smasher: Tri-Tip, Chopscotch, Pain-Yatta
Sentinel: Barbella, Ember, Hood Sickle
Knight: Ambush, Unknown Air (maybe Wildstorm), Grave Clobber
Bowslinger: Unknown hooded skylander, Unknown sasquatch skylander, Wolfgang
Swashbuckler: Unknown Tech skylander, Aurora, Bad Juju
Sorcerer: Golden queen
Quickshot: Unknown Water skylander, Dr Krankcase
Brawler: King Pen, Crash Bandicoot
Ninja: Tae Kwon Crow
Bazooker: Chompy Mage

My predictions:
Mysticat: sorcerer
Flarewolf: Bazooker (you can see what looks like a bazooka on his shoulder)
Pit Boss: Quickshot
Air Strike: Bazooker (name sounds like he would use a bazooka)
Boom Bloom: Ninja
Starcast: Ninja (actual stars instead of shuriken)

On second thought Luminous you might be right, Pit Boss looks more like a sorcerer.
(maybe my dream of an undead sorcerer might come true)

I don't think anyone is paying attention to weapons, especially Pit Boss. Pit Boss is a Sorcerer. Nuff' Said.

VV And how do you think Flarewolf is a Bowslinger? None of these characters are a Bowslinger. We know three bowslingers already. A possible Light and Dark element, then Wolfgang. Flarewolf is confirmed a Bazooker, just by his weapon.

Also, Starcast is confirmed a Ninja. He was holding Ninja Stars.

Other then that, everything else is good, though I don't think Air Strike is a Ninja. Either a Bazooker or a Quickshot, but Mysticat might be a Ninja.

Does anyone realize that Air Strike, Mysticat, and Tri-Tip have the same facial structure? A horizontal oval head, with a weird-looking mouth and eyes.

Here are my predictions for which Battle Classes the new Senseis are going to be in:
Boom Bloom: Ninja
Chompy Mage: Bazooker (obviously)
Aurora: Swashbuckler (already confirmed on Skylanders Wiki)
Grave Clobber: Knight (obviously)
Flarewolf: Bowslinger
Mysticat: Sorcerer
Starcast: Sorcerer (he also bears a striking resemblance to Star Strike)
Pit Boss: Quickshot (much like Rattle Shake)
Air Strike: Ninja

Hoodsickle in Dark? Makes sense...
Tae Kwon Crow in Fire? A little odd but maybe it'll be explained...
Grave Clobber in Water? Ok now this is weird...

@Luminous35 I'm still thinking Eye Five will make the cut, because we have all three knights, and Luminous was more of a ranged fighter back in Trap Team, with the former (Eye Five) being a Brawler.

Sorry to burst your bubble again, but Gulper is a Doom Raider, from what we've gathered, Doom Raiders stay in their original Elements and water is full up because someone decided to put a walking Totem in the Water
