Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

to me pain-yatta is the most logic choice, so i think that he will be a skylander.

We don't know if it was a mistake yet. It's the head of TFB, not some random dude; maybe at that point it was planned and scrapped, or he's in and he just mentioned an older weapon design.

@PortalMasterone Dude all we heard is some guy said he had a candy axe by mistake. Even though I love Pain Yatta, he still isn't confirmed yet.

There where a lot of villains who's elements didn't make sense:
tussle sprout should be life
slobber trap should be earth or life
threatpack should be tech
scrap shooter should be tech
masker mind should be magic
eye five should be magic or undead
blaster-tron could be light but he's a possibility for tech
Lob Goblin should be tech
eye scream should be undead
fisticuffs should be tech

This is what i think the roster will be:
brawlers: king pen, unknown light villain, unknown magic
sorcerers: golden queen, mysticat, pit boss
smashers: tri-tip, pain-yatta, chopscotch
bowslingers: wolfgang, unknown light, unknown dark
quickshots: dr krankcase, unknown water
sentinels: ember, hood sickle, barbella
swashbucklers: bad juju, aurora, unknown tech
ninjas: tae kwon crow, starcast, boom bloom
knights: wildstorm, ambush, grave clobber
bazookers: flarewolf, air strike, chompy mage

There's just one thing that i can't place, the last quickshot
the brawler, smasher, bowslinger, sentinel and swashbuckler lineups are known and i think that the other lineups are the ones i listed but that would leave us with 1 tech skylander and 1 open slot for the quickshot class left, but with krankcase already being a quickshot that seems unlikely (except if he's a light element because of his white base) I just don't know.

Ok, I'm gonna try my hand at guessing their battle classes. Had some time to look at them and think what they are (despite mainly agreeing with someone else's post).

Mysticat: Quickshot
Flarewolf: Bazooker
Starcast: Ninja
Boom Bloom: Brawler
Pit Boss: Sorcerer
Air Strike: Ninja
Aurora: Swashbuckler

This would make me happy as well cause then I could get mainly people I really ike IF the bowslinger are light and dark and the other magic sensei is a Sorcerer and the other tech sensei is a Bazooker. I'd give you 1 of every element and battle class without buying anything extra.

King Pen: water and brawler
Mysticat: magic and quickshot
Pit Boss: undead and sorcerer
Tri Tip: earth and smasher
Ember: fire and Sentinel
???: tech and bazooker
Aurora: Light and swashbuckler
Ambush: Life and knight
Hood Guy: dark and bowslinger
Aurora Strike: air and ninja

Sorry for the long post. I'm just so excited for this game haha.

Bad Juju has already been confirmed, Luminous35, as well as Pain-Yatta, we just haven't seen their figures yet. And how in Skylands is Luminous the champion of Brock's Rumble Club?

well if grave clobber is a knight then it gotta be a really big sword

Well, since London, it has been straight up noticed!

Also, I think it is cool that Grave Clobber, Bad Juju and Hood Sickle are together again. I always thought they were good cohorts!

V Because it's the only way everything will make sense. There can't be another Water Brawler, and Life can't have another Knight or another Brawler, leaving it for Chompy Mage to be a Bazooker, and the Light Villain is a Brawler.

VV Umm, thats not exactly logical.

1. Eye Five barely is a Light villain. Doesn't fit the color scheme.
2. Luminous could be a Light Brawler. No one expected Wolfgang to be an Archer, and he wasn't back in Trap Team. Luminous was also the Champion of the Brock's Rumble Club.

Either way, Luminous or Eye Five is getting in, unless Bad Juju replaces them, which I'll be pissed about.

how the hell you know grave clobber is a knight? we only saw his head!

Chompy Mage is going to be a Bazooker, and the Light Villain Sensei is going to be a Brawler, since both Water and Life have Brawlers (King Pen and Crash Bandicoot), and both have Knights as well (Ambush and Grave Clobber), so the only logical choice for the second Light Sensei is Eye Five.
