Story

The story of Skylanders Imaginators takes place long ago when the Ancients used a mysterious power known as "Mind Magic" to create everything in Skylands. With it, they conjured into existence anything that they could imagine! However, they soon learned that in the wrong hands, it could be very dangerous, and so they sealed it away so that it could never be misused. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has unleashed the power of "Mind Magic" into Skylands once again - and he is using it to create an unstoppable army of Doomlanders, the likes of which have never been seen! Now it's up to Portal Masters to create Skylanders Imaginators from their own imagination and stop Kaos and his evil Doomlanders before it is too late. And to help train them, Eon is sending the greatest mystic warriors of all time - the Senseis!

Characters

For new playable characters there are 20 brand new Skylander Senseis as well as 11 former villains. Along with their element each Sensei will also have a Battle Class from a list of ten: Smasher, Knight, Ninja, Bazooker, Quickshot, Sorcerer, Brawler, Sentinel, Swashbuckler, and Bowslinger.

The first set of characters to be revealed included King Pen, Golden Queen, and Tri-Tip. Here is a table containing all of the new Skylanders, click the + to see all the known variants:

Senseis

"Sensei" is the collective name for the new set of Skylanders (the villains also function as Senseis), their Battle Class determines the types of attacks and weapons they use as well as which abilities they unlock for your Imaginators. They all have a new type of super attack called Sky-Chi that slowly fills up as you defeat enemies until it reaches a point where you can unleash it on your unsuspecting foes (quite similar to the ability Trap Masters had in the 3DS version of Trap Team).

Owning a Sensei of a particular battle class will unlock a Secret Technique for your Imaginators of the same class. As well as that they will each unlock an item and a weapon for use in customisation. Senseis will also be able to access areas known as "Sensei Elemental Realms".

Creation Crystal

Included in the Starter Pack is a Fire Creation Crystal, this allows you to create and store your very own custom Fire element Skylander. To create a Skylander of a different element you'll need to purchase a Creation Crystal of that element.

Be aware that once you select a Battle Class you can not change it on that Creation Crystal ever again. So choose carefully!

Starter Pack

In the Starter Pack you get the Water Sensei Master King Pen, the Earth Villain Golden Queen, and a Fire Creation Crystal. The portal included is identical to that of the Swap Force portal (some regions instead have a modified SuperChargers Portal without a trap slot).

There is also once again a Dark Edition of the Starter Pack, it contains three Dark variant Skylanders (King Pen, Golden Queen, and Wolfgang) and three standard Creation Crystals (Fire, Life, and Dark). The pack also comes with a Gold Imaginite Mystery Chest that unlocks some gear for your Imaginators.

And there is a "Crash Edition" that is only available on PlayStation 3 and 4, it has the same contents as the regular Starter Pack plus the Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Neo Cortex toys. The characters will be available in a separately sold Adventure Pack at a later date.

Platforms

The game is only appearing on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the Wii U. That means no Wii, 3DS, or Tablet versions this year.

I noticed some people kept spreading that the Villains and their vehicles in SuperChargers have elements; they don't. It's all guesswork, and even in the wiki I have to remove some of the weirdest ones because people just assume. Mesmeralda is associated with Magic because of her effects' colors, though; bright purple is always Magic though her skin itself is Dark dark purple.

@Chompy-King

Yes it sort of makes sense but it's 1) been confirmed that villains will be brought from all games plus and 2) its just plain lazy! As a game designer when I create a new game I look to start fresh or at least add something new, just copy and pasting is lazy and will very quickly see the downfall of your game.

I've been recently been playing all of the games through again and my 11 are as follows:

Magic: Pain-Yatta (confirmed)
Earth: Golden Queen (confirmed)
Fire: Pepper Jack (though I doubt he will have a tomato cannon as Food fight has one)
Water: Captain frightbeard
Air: Cluck
Tech: Dr Krankcase (confirmed)
Undead: Wolfgang (Confirmed)
Life: ???? (unsure on this as I don't feel chompy mage really fits in)
Light: Luminous
Dark: Mezmerlda

Kaos is the 11th

V I didn't play Superchargers, how are villains treated as elements in that game? Like, how does it come up?

But she was treated as a magic Villan in super chargers...I don't know if it's possible to change her element.

I think, if it's not Nightshade, that Mesmeralda could actually be the dark villain, if she isn't magic.

V Ember's not a healer.

I'm thinking that Broccoli Guy may actually be a Villain in this. He could easily be a Life Sentinel, for sentinels are usually healers/guards. Plus, he has the staff for it.

V Why of course they're bad, that's why everyone likes them.
