Released in October 2006, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning, is said to be the first of a new reset storyline and was developed by Krome Studios (PS2, XBOX, GCN, GBA) and Amaze Entertainment (DS).

Features
- Action/combat orientated
- New breath abilities, fury attacks, melee and aerial combo attacks
- Upgradeable breath abilities
- The new storyline explores Spyro's origins, all the way back to when he hatched and was raised by a family of dragonflies
- Fire, Earth, Electric and Ice breaths.
- The villain is a female black dragon called Cynder.
- Krome Studios are taking care of the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube and GBA versions whilst Amaze Entertainment are making the DS version again.
- Five bosses to fight during the game
- Spyro returns to the skies
- Elijah Wood as the voice of Spyro
- David Spade as the voice of Sparx
- Gary Oldman as the voice of Ignitus: a red dragon, the Fire Dragon Elder and Spyro's mentor.
- Named enemies. A lot of creatures that Spyro attacks will have their own individual name (randomly assigned except for significant enemies such as bosses or some small creatures). You can read a complete list of all of the bits of the names, and view a Random Enemy Name Generator.

Hey everybody, i`ve completed the game about 6 times, but each time with infinite breath and health cheat but i`m gonna make you type it in yahoo or google or whatever you`ve got, hahaha yeeeeah ok my favorite world is tall plains, but i wish that the designers put a level select in, i`m tired of having to scamper through dante`s freezer and using earth to kill the ice king, all you get after you complete it is credits and Eligah Wood interview, really sucks, at least you get to keep the breaths and oh i`ve also upgraded my breaths to the very last level, i`m like Cyril/Ignightus/Voltier/Terrador all rolled into one lol well bye, good luck defeating Steam and Cynder(just for the record, i think Steam`s harder than Cynder)!
Argh, I'm disappointed at this game. Played it nonstop 6 hours and then finished it (WITHOUT A WALKTHROUGH! There was no walkthroughs back then). The new battle system was awesome but the game was too short ;(!!

iam gonna tell you about me meeting spyro i was looking for a crash bandicoot game and my mum said that why dont you get this game and it was spyro year of the dragon so i got it and i really liked it and the weird thing is that spyro and crash have joined togther but i luv spyro now
